He earned his degree in Health Sciences from Quinnipiac University and went on to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic from the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic, graduating magna cum laude. Frequently asked questions

Chiropractic care commonly helps with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, joint pain, and sports or overuse injuries. Treatment focuses on improving movement, reducing pain, and restoring function.

Yes. Many people seek care for back and neck pain. Treatment aims to improve joint mobility, reduce muscle tension, and support long-term recovery.

Yes. In addition to the spine, we treat joints, muscles and nerves throughout the body, including shoulders, hips, knees, elbows, wrists, ankles, feet and hands.

Yes. Some headaches are related to neck tension and joint irritation. Improving movement and reducing muscle tightness in the neck and upper back may help decrease headache frequency or intensity.

Yes. We work with athletes and active adults to recover from injuries, improve mobility, and support performance while reducing injury risk.

Yes. We assess how you sit, stand, and work, then suggest simple changes to reduce strain and help prevent recurring pain.

Your first visit includes a detailed history and thorough exam. We assess movement, joint function, and relevant orthopedic or neurological factors to understand the cause of your symptoms before creating a plan. We will then treat if appropriate or make a referral in the rare cases it is necessary.

Yes. After your evaluation, we explain what we find, discuss a working diagnosis, and outline your treatment options, expected timeline, and next steps.

That depends on your condition, goals, and how your body responds to care. We provide a general timeline after your exam and reassess progress along the way.

Care may include joint adjustments, hands-on muscle work, tool-assisted soft tissue therapy, corrective exercise, and posture or movement guidance.

Soft tissue therapy focuses on muscles and connective tissue. It helps reduce tension, improve circulation, and restore normal movement in tight or irritated areas.

Yes. We often prescribe simple, targeted exercises to improve strength, mobility, and control so results last beyond the treatment table.

Chiropractic care is widely considered safe when performed by a licensed provider. We use a careful exam process to determine which treatments are appropriate for you.

Active Care is a small, independent practice focused on one-on-one visits. We emphasize thorough evaluation, clear communication, and personalized treatment plans.

Absolutely. If your condition would benefit from another specialist, imaging, or co-management, we’ll help guide you to the right provider.

In most cases, no referral is needed. You can contact the office directly to schedule an appointment.

Yes. Active Care serves patients from Pompton Lakes and surrounding North Jersey communities looking for personalized, evidence-based chiropractic care but also has patients travel from neighboring states to receive our specialized care.

Your First Appointment

  • Bring Your Insurance Card
  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for physical movement or access to the area being examined
  • The first visit usually takes about 30-45 minutes depending on the complexity of your case

Your Visit Experience

  • History And Examination After reviewing your history and intake documents, Dr. Morris will perform a thorough physical examination tailored to your condition. Sometimes orthopedic, neurological or other specialized testing are needed to provide an accurate diagnosis to ensure proper care. If your condition is not one that can be helped by chiropractic care, the proper referrals will be provided.
  • Report of Findings Once your examination is complete, Dr. Morris will review and explain all of the findings pertinent to your condition. Recommended treatments will then be explained along with alternative treatment options. Please ask any questions you may have about your condition or treatment at any point during your appointment.
  • Treatment If your condition is one that can benefit from conservative chiropractic care, Dr. Morris will provide treatment during your first appointment. Depending on your diagnosis, a variety of treatments may be used.
  • Aftercare All healthcare is a partnership between the patient and the doctor. To ensure the highest quality treatment, patients are given at-home instructions to complement and increase the effectiveness of their care. Directions for hydration, exercises or stretches, and ergonomic instructions are given to each patient to improve their health as quickly as possible.
